I have found the perfect Emerson knife (for me), the CQC-7AW plain edge model. I have a couple of questions...

I had the knife ready to purchase. It was in my "cart" and I was about to "complete check out" on the Emerson website. Then I noticed the shipping charge to Hawaii -nearly $30 UPS.

So, the first question is:

1) Does Emerson ever stray from the UPS to accommodate their customers? I emailed them a few minutes ago asking if they could use USPS flat rate shipping with confirmation (which would only cost them about $6, regardless of weight).

Second question:

2) Is there any other place to purchase a CQC-7AW plain edge model? From what I understand, the model I want is kind of a "sprint run" that only Emerson is selling.

Thanks in advance for your help. Im really looking forward to owning an Emerson:D:thumbup:.

^Yah, and no answer.

I understand that a company does things a certain way as part of their "business model" -and altering that model can cause significant problems (like shipping methods). I always try to be understanding and as polite as possible:thumbup:.

I received a reply to my email. They were happy to discuss shipping charges with me, but more importantly I found out that the model I was interested in was backordered. I have been really looking forward to owning an emerson knife so I just ordered a CQC-7A-SF from action concepts.

Cant wait!:D

The camera I have been using has an annoying auto-focus feature -so its a little out of focus. I just wanted to say that I am stoked on this knife.

I love the look of the spear-point 7. It's friendly enough not to scare people when you pull it out, but it's got the form and function of all of Emerson's great knives.

Excellent buy. May it serve you well.
