Hello, I am a new member to the Emerson group, I just got a Commander. I like with each passing day more and more, although my jeans have seen better days because of the wave:D Oh well, its's fun. Anyways I've been to the Emerson web page and under the magazine covers I saw a hawk bill (s curve) blade that looked really cool. A friend told me that he thought it was an Emerson CQC9 from what I described. Question??? Is that what it is called? He thought it was a very limited custom knife? Any chance Emerson may make a production version of this knife?
Thanks

That would be the SARK- Search and Rescue Knife. Designed for EMT, Divers, etc... The blade is curved with a blunt tip to allow you to cut seat belts, clothing, etc.. without slicing into human flesh.

CQC 9?

Firstly, welcome! I'm also fairly new to the EK Forum.

Check out the EKI Gallery  ! I'm sure you'll get the answer to your question there. The Suspects are a fine bunch  Fiercly loyal to eachother and EK blades. Like myself, I'm sure you'll learn a lot around here,(if you have a thick enough skin)!

Hi!

If the cover also had an eagle it was a CQC9, these are very hard to find and expensive too.

The (P-)SARK is a regular production model and it definitely easier to find. I've only checked out a friends P-SARK and i'm going to buy one ASAP :) i liked it!

EKI makes great knives!

Just as an aside, have you checked out the article by EE in the latest Blade magazine?
He apparently is a "student of roman culture",and the article speaks of blades carried by "Roman Legionnaires"

If it was an old blade magazine with a bald eagle on the cover and the article title was: "The hook is the look" it was a custom CQC9 (serrated, I think...)

the CQC9 is also called "the Eagle"

It is a small knife, really sturdy, designed for the DEA agents that needed a tool to cut "illegal drug farms" and at the same time could be used as a weapon.

I'm aware that only 5 or 6 are out there, but may be like 11 in real life.

here is a pic:

I hope this helps!
