Im buying myself a new EDC for my birthday. Anyways, my check clears tonight so tomorrow morning I'm ordering either a super se7en or the 15
What are your thoughts?

I like tantos, i'm leaning towards the se7en because its the classic imo and just classy man. Would i like to supersize my order? Is this America? The 15 has got some zazz. The whole tanto/recurve is sex. If i could put the 15 handle on the 7 i would. So yea....thoughts?

Many seven fans out there. I'm not one; I've had a mini, regular and super, yet didn't keep any of them. Don't like the grip shape. Check out the Roadhouse, my favorite EKI design.

Another vote for the roadhouse. My mini roadhouse is one of my favorite carry knives!

GET THE 15!

It is the best combo of Emerson traits into one hybridized Emerson.

Also the Super CQC-7 has a really long handle to blade ratio. Don't be mistaken by the pics which can get distorted.

Really think you should take a closer look at the 15 for your first Emerson. You can thank me later.:D

First both the Etak B and the CQC-15 are great choices.

The 15 and B both have the same blade length of 3.9". But the handle (grip) is longer on the ETak 9 than the 15. And the grip is bigger (wider).

I prefer the longer blade vs longer handle ratio. If I carry a big knife I want an equally big blade to come with it. That said, there is not much difference in the gip length in the Etak compare to the 15. Just the 15's grip shorter and both have the same blade length of 3.9".

But I prefer the CQC-15 blade shape because it is more utilitarian and can do more tasks than the tanto (plus the blade on a 15 is absolutely gorgeous when you see it in person!)... It think it is a work of art and you get your moneys worth from the blade on the 15.

So depends what you want to use it for? ...and what you like. The 15 is great for doing more chores. The Etak is a good defensive knife while the CQC-15 does that and more.

Knowing all this. Go with what YOU like! Not all men like the same woman either. Some prefer dark skin and dark hair. Some prefer blonds and fair skin. But both are good choices, lol

Get the CQC 15. Possibly the most comfortable handle I've ever used, and the blade is gorgeous!

I absolutely love the handle ergos of my CQC-15, and I find the recurve portion of the blade to be very good at slicing.

The ETAK-b looks like it will give great handle ergos as well, though I am less keen on the more traditional tanto edge.

Congrats on the 15, I love mine.

As a long time owner and lover of the 7, I decided to go big or go home and get the Super 7. After about a week and a half of carry, I can say this:

- I actually think that it feels MORE in scale than the regular 7.
- The Super 7 now feels perfect, leaving my 7 feeling a little bit small.
- Like the 7, the edge will be a breeze. I'm not a fan of messing with the curves that intersect with the flats.
- Get the Super 7.
- Repeat my last.

But the super 7 has such a long handle to blade ratio. I wish they made it more even.
