I've been trying to do research on this as it seems like something that I should automatically know, but what the heck does CQC mean?

While we're at it, what about HD?

I love my emersons, but I have no idea what those two different sets of letters mean.

Thanks in advance, J.

I could be wrong but I believe it stands for Close Quarter Combat. Not sure about the HD though :(.

Wow, that was fast, thanks . That sounds true enough to me, and makes sense seeing as how emerson provides a lot for the military.

Oh okay, that makes sense too, especially since the "HD" models were both frame locks as far as I know.

I've got a 2006 Emerson Catalog and its describing a HD-7.

PUK stands for Police Utility Knife
SARK stands for Search and Rescue Knife
MF stands for military folder

Wow, thanks, that's some good information to have. I'd hold onto that catalogue if I were you.

the only HD is the HD7 the other frame lock is a CQC12 or comrade folder, comrade is because its supposed to look like an AK47 bayonet blade.
