And yet another in a fair line of get after bare bones users will be coming down the pike in the way of another CQC14 conversion to a frame lock.

As the old saying goes when it rains it pours.

Got it now. I got them mixed up. Thought yours was the 8. But its understandable considering I've been inundated with Emersons lately. Anyway thanks for the reminder.

no no i did send the cqc8 haha. see i thought i sent the 14 because thats what i initally wanted. but i did some considering and picked the 8 for the frame lock

sorry for just being dumb

Ok well I thought I had it right. I have to write on the envelopes again to make sure then.

It would help in the future to add a note with the package. I get so much going on that without it I'd forced to either ask or look up old emails through a search but so long as I get it right before cutting into anything I'll be fine.

my note must have been mixed up in the mess of news paper i put in the box

Hmmm. I'll look. I still have those. I like having the note to stick with the knives for quick and easy reference so I can get right to work without having to question what I'm doing.

We'll figure it out.

Made some progress on this one today.

Milling out the lock after mapping my path is the next step on this one.

Seen here are just some preliminary rough in shots to be sure it all goes together as it should. It did. So far so good.

Got the 14 knocked out today and it will ship tomorrow.

I'm not posting more digitals of one I've done five of so since this is getting a bit redundant for this model I'm just going to show a couple of scans and save my MB of storage for new pics. Sorry Sam. Hope you understand.:)

EDIT: Oops put the wrong pics up there. These are the ones I wanted. :D

final stock thickness on this one for the lock is .157 and the final weight is 5.3ounces.

Yep. Just another in a long line of purely functional bare bones get after it hardcore tools. Its my hope that my knives are more often pulled out to use rather than pulled out to show off. If I get em back later for a sharpen or tweak of somekind without use scars from past battles I'm a bit disappointed. ;) At .160 thickness titanium and equipped with the most shallow lock cuts you can squeeze by with they should be sufficiently tough for sure.
