On a really nice knife!

I'm glad you saw this before I did or I'd be out digging up some money again!

And a Half-moon at that!

Niiiice score, buddy! But, what the hell is a "ratcheted folding system"?

Well done on picking up a nice Emerson - I too would like to know more about the mechanism!!

Regards,

Ed

It should be arriving today. I'll post a review upon receipt. I'm curious as can be about the "ratchet" feature. Anyone know of any other knives like that?

Never heard of it before. Makes me think "SpeedSafe", for some weird reason.

Just arrived. Never seen anything like it before. For starters, the micarta is a deep, reddish maroon. Filework on both bolsters, and liner. Double relieved bolsters. Half moon logo. Zero RIGHT HAND chisel grind. The "ratchet" feature is really interesting. As the blade opens or closes, there are 10 distinct clicks where the blade encounters resistance. The seller said that it was a feature that some SEAL members asked Ernie for to provide additional control in wet situations. I hope to see Ernie next week at the New York Show and will find out more from him. I've seen and handled a lot of Ernie's customs. This one is different.

Thank you for the info - it will be interesting to hear Ernie's comments.

Regards,

Ed

Jackstraw,
Congratulations. Really lovely piece!:)
Warmest wishes.
Oliver
PS By the way, you will note that I have become a gold member as well now, and hope to play around with direct down loads of pictures etc. :D
