GOOD DAY,DO ANY ANY OF YOU USUAL SUSPECTS KNOW HOW MANY CQC6 MOP WERE MADE?I WAS LOOKING THROUGH THE GALLERY AND ONLY SAW 4 OR 5 IN THE GALLERY.DOES MR. EMERSON KEEP COUNT OF WHAT HE MAKES? JZ U/S;) sorry for caps:o

Hey JZ

I'm not sure what you mean by "Mods" to the CQC6. If you mean "variations" on the design, there are a huge amount. Just off the top of my head:

"Full Dress" models:
  • *Tanto blade and Spearpoint "Viper" blade
*Different patterns of Damascus ("Ladder" I believe is the most common)
*Mother of Pearl (most common) or Abalone (Dexter showed a picture of an Abalone)
    *"Halfmoon" or "Specwar" logo

Regular Customs:
  • *Tanto (most common) or "A" style blade (again, only one "A" style seen"
*154CM, ATS34, or Titanium blade material (154CM currently used)
*Green Canvas Micarta (most common) or Black Canvas Micarta scales
*Scales Bead Blasted (most common) or Checkered
    *"Halfmoon" or "Specwar" logo
*Zero ground or Secondary Bevel (most common)
*Left side ground (most common) or right side ground
*Right handed (most common) or left handed
*File worked bolsters or plain bolsters
*File worked liner lock (most common) or plain
*Single recessed bolster (most common) or double recessed
*Thumb disk (most common) or Thumb stud (very rare)
*Plain edge (most common) or serrated
*Satin finish (most common), Bead Blasted or Black-T finished blade

I suppose that the following "mistakes" should also be considered
  • *Double stamped logo (one "Halfmoon", one "Specwar") on Ti CQC6s
    *CQC6s Mismarked "CQC7"

Am I missing any guys?

John

hey john my bad.mop is what i was asking about.but also does ernie keep track of what he makes?(custom)

*Thumb disk (most common) or Thumb stud (very rare)

Any one that has a pic of a cqc6 with a thummb stud, could you please post a pic? I have never even heard of one until now.

Was this a single or ambi thumb stud?

Ernie made one with a thumb stud - special order - and it was only on one side. It was an early knife, with a half-moon logo on it.

I bought it still mint from the original owner in 1996, but later had it stolen from me. I may still have a pic of it somewhere; if I can find it, I'll post it.

On the general question, Emerson did not keep records of how many 6s he's made, so the number out there is anybody's guess. I will say that they are still extremely hard to come by!
