CQC7 blade hitting the liner...

Hi,

I recently got a BT NIB CQC7 and while it came out good for the first few days I had it, lately there is a scratching sound every time I deploy the blade. If I hold the thumb disk and carefully deploy it, then there is no sound. But when I use my my thumb and one hand, a scratching sound can be heard.

I haven't touched the pivot screw at all since I cannot find a flathead screwdriver around my house narrow enough to fit. I also do not want to keep it like this since it might rub the BT finish off..

Any help?

Adjust the pivot screw when you find a smaller flathead. The one on my swiss army knife works fine. 99% sure this will fix it.

I always thought that Emersons have two detents, one on each side of the blade, to prevent this kind of thing from happening. or is that only for customs?

Turn the screw to the right, tight, then back it off to the left until you find the sweet spot.

I don't think the detent alone is going to stop the force of someone pushing the blade towards the liner while opening.

But there are two detent on productions:thumbup:

I had the same issue with my A-100.

All you have to do is take the knife apart, clean it and reassemble it. It will be perfectly center after that!

One liner is supposedly Ti and the other is stainless steel. Ti holds a memory longer than stainless, hence the detent issue.
