Ok, I've got some funds set aside for a new knife. Only problem is I can't decide between the 7 and Horseman. Help me out, more than likely ordering either one tomorrow

Didn't you mention that you already have a 7? If so, take the plunge and get a different model. From your listed choices, that would be a Horseman.

I think you will like just about anything you buy, but check out the Journeyman and the Commander -- a couple of my favorites.

I have a horseman and a Super-7 (BM Variant). I recently acquired the Super-7 so its in my pocket a lot. But for more utilitarian tasks. i'd go with the horseman. Great little knife. The V/Chisel Grind works better IMO that a standard Chisel grind.

Just my opinion, but the 7's handle is much more comfortable while the Horseman's blade is more functional.
Maybe chose depending on which is more important to you?
They are both great knives and I doubt if I could decide either.

I got my first CQC7 in 98. It was the Benchmade. It was stolen from luggage in 2000. Got the Emerson next. I love the 7. Get it.

Mini CQC-8 (Horseman). I think the newest ones have standoffs instead of a backspacer also.

I've had both the 7 and the Horseman...I still have the 7 ;) While I like the Horseman design, I found that I would always grab the 7 over it.

My CQC7 should be here Monday :D The one I was using before was a friends, I wanted to get a good feel for the wave before I committed to my own

A wise choice -- after handling your buddy's 7, you know you are getting a great knife!

The 7 is awesome, such a tank of a knife for its size. Already looking into getting my next one. Just not sure what it'll be

The seven and the Horseman are both EKI's I've owned and then sold. Neither worked for me for differing reasons. I too love the Journeyman followed by the CQC-10.

Quick pic to compare,
The 8 always gets in on the pics.

They take a nice edge as well. My Horsemans shiny grin.

Cheers

I had the Benchmade version of the CQC7 and never cared for the off center cuts I got in some materials, and I'm an Emerson fan. Maybe one day I'll try a 7V but for now I'd say Horseman.
