I am a total novice when it comes to emersons, but am very impressed with the solid/sturdy nature of this one I have.
Its a CQC7B, black blade, partially serrated, chisel grind, tanto.
The first question is this: within the Emerson graphic, it has 2001, up by the thumb stud it says 1993.
Is this a 1993 knife? What does the 2001 mean?
Second, while the knife is in particularly good shape, and appears to have the factory edge, there are some scuffs on the black coating on the "face" side, near the tip. Can this black coating be refinished, or should it be removed to make it a satin finish blade?
Third, there is no blade steel marking, any idea what type of steel this would be, maybe ATS-34?
Last, would this peice likely have steel or titanium liners?
Thanks Much. Really impressed with this, although tanto and chisel grind are definately not for me, this is a fine peice of equipment...
