Benchmade 970 ST Emerson CQC7 Titanium Tanto. Trying to confirm that only 750 were made. Does anyone know the value of them?

Huh. Interesting. I may have one of those, but I'm not sure because I bought it a long time ago, but it certainly looks like that, except for the black blade. I'll see if I can rustle up my original papers...

I have emailed Benchmade and awaiting a response. From other forums looks like they were made 1995-1996.

Bought mine in 1996, so that fits the date. It still has an amazingly smooth action, but it's the knife that made me hate chisel grinds and tanto points. I've since gotten over the tanto hate, thanks to the wonderful Ontario Utilitac II, but I still don't care for the chisel grind, and I've carried it enough that the lock stick eventually went away. The original edge was so shallow it's hard to get the shaving-sharp edge I like, so I rarely carry it these days. That said, the Emerson/Benchmade was my first quality folder, so I'll likely never get rid of it.

I spoke to Benchmade today. The CQC7s 970s were discontinued in 1998.
They had to hunt to find the 970ST all they could tell me wow we did not know we made a titanium blade knife. Wow. Looking at their system they do not show much.

I have one. I never carry it. I got it in a trade in 2007. It's the only titanium bladed knife I own but I have never used it.
