I ordered an early Xmas present for myself yesterday from BladeArt.
That is the above mentioned knife. After seeing what Bob Doggat did to one I figured I had to have one only satin finish and of course without his hand touching it. Hopefully that will change. But I digress. I have heard all sorts of different things both good and bad on the Emerson lines. Any info on this particular model. Bottom line I chose it just because it was about the least expensive one of the bunch and the magic Mr. Doggat worked on the one I should have bought but waited to long. The other caveat is that the blade seems utilitarian enough to be a fine edc knife without upsetting most people. Any comments out there? Keep'em sharp

I actually have 2 CQC7A's, one is gray-bladed and older version (i.e., less aggressive serrated section, non-reinforced tip). The other version is Black Ti coated, reinforced tip, and "Dragon's Teeth" serrations. My one complaint is on my Black Ti version, when open, if I use a constant pressure on the back of the blade, the liner lock will begin to slip back over towards the left. I theorize it may be due to the end of blade tang is very steeply angled...?

However, I do not have such a problem on my old version 7-A, nor on my satin finished CQC7B. Other than that, and the fact that for my purposes the one-side grind is a bit less utilitatian, they are comfortable and I like the size. BTW, both my 7A's and my one 7B are labled 99 on the blade, so I am guessing that's the year they were manufactured.

I love mine, it has been an EDC since purchase. I bought it from a forumite so it is partially serrated which I'm not crazy 'bout, but they work. Feels great in the hand, sharp, no QC probs.
I, however, shudder to think of an Emerson as `sheeple friendly'.:D
Congrats, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Sorry about that. Hey have that CQC7 enroute. What do you
think the chances are that your magic may grace it? Had to ask,
it was a real bone head decision on my part to vasilate like I did.
