A friend is selling Me a serialized Emerson CQC7 Tanto black-t finished,50/50 folder. Are these really collectable or just nice Emerson production knives? It has a serial number on the blade in silver colored etching and the opening disc is silver colored too.It is NIB and He's only charging Me $70.00 which I feel is good no matter if it's worth more than a regular issue or not.I'm planning to use this knife anyhow. What are Your thoughts? Thanks, tom.

edited for spelling corrections.

Tom

Currently there isn't a large secondary market for CQC7s. Sounds like you'll have a sweet user at a bargin price.

John,My friend really had the description messed up.This knife has a satin finished blade with a blue/black disc. The etching in the blade is black with the serial number in the 400 range.I took position of it today and I really like it.Thanks for Your info.tom.:D

Tom, I see at the top of your last post "CQC7B CN". Is it a CN? The way to tell is that the serial nuber has "CN" as a prefix. (Eg. "CN409")

If so it'll be 50/50 serrated and these were part of a limited number of sets made in 1999. There were 500 CN sets made and the sets consisted of a CN coated Commander and a CN coated CQC7B. Both serialized the same.

John

John,It is CN 4XX,just as You described.Maybe I should try to trade it for a regular one so not to ruin it?tom.

Actually, you should try to hunt for the Commander with matching serial numbers, then you would have a serialized SET.....

Yeahz...
I think it will be a long conquest...especially since we would be looking at the (1998-1999) Commander Series....
