CQC7V-SF blade questions

Just picked up one from the Exchange here and am looking forward to getting it. Had a question about the blade grind. Is the overall angle the same as other EKI blades, just made from both sides, or is is a wider angle? Same blade thickness I presume? Guess I'll know in a couple of days when I compare it to my Super CQC7-SF, but was curious to hear from any other V owners.

I am a huge fan of the wave, but never use my Super CQC because it isn't very well-suited for all around cutting tasks of my personal EDC needs. But it is always my go-to knife for defensive carry needs where I don't expect to be doing any general purpose cutting. I'm hoping the V grind will be better suited to me for EDC, though.

Ok, so got the CQC7V today. The V grind is symmetrical, but the edge is still done basically one-sided. WTF? I'm not crazy about that, but not a big deal. The size is much more EDC friendly than the Super CQC I have. The G10 scales are slightly thicker and much more coarse/grippy, too. It has the usual slight blade play as most out-of-the-box Emersons do. I'll strip it down and perform the basic field readiness prep including cleaning, greasing, setting the pivot screw with a touch of Loctite blue and it should be ready for extended use.

I don't see it replacing my ZT 301/302 as my favorite EDC, but there are occasions when the ZTs are just a bit too big and heavy. Cool knife, though, and a keeper for sure. Now just have to decide if I should sell the Super, or pimp it out a little...

Yeah, I probably could have learned that with a little more research, but I still like the Super CQC7 and the CQC7V overall. I'll probably keep the 7V, as this is all the Emerson I want unless there is ever a Ti frame lock, V grind/edge, with wave feature knife released. I can't imagine that would not sell like crazy. But it sounds like his business is basically where he wants it, and not overly influenced by customer feedback.

I agree with "tokerblue", there's probably not going to be a true V edge on an Emerson. As to a Ti frame-lock V grind Emerson, there is the CQC-12, if you can find one (Glad I have one). Again, they're not a V edge, but a V grind.
