First I want to wish you :

A happy new year to all !!!
(in advance...)

I just want to know if the production Emerson CQC8 which is sell with a Sure-Fire C2 is (or will be) available without the flashlignt and in different blade finish (I already own a Sure-Fire...)

I really like the blade design, how it is calling ? Do you know other knives with this kind of blade ? :D

I wish it were available in a satin finish. I also wish it were available without the light. The CQC8 is one of my favorite designs. It is my understanding that it will NOT be offered any other way than with the BT coating :barf: and the flashlight.
 
Yep, it will not be offered with out the light it has to stay a set, can we all say, SUCKS ASS
 
Have known and worked with Emerson and his knives for many years now.

Across the board an excellent product and relentless designer.

Anyway you go with Ernie and his work you'll be okay.

The production CQC8 is being offered as an exclusive offering with Surefire. They only come in a single configuration with the Surefire flashlight.

This is a similar policy that EKI has done with other knives, for example the SOFCK is only available through Extreme Outfitters.

Other finishes have been available on the CQC8 in its custom form. I am sure that if you do a search in the Emerson forum you will find some pictures.

I have a waved, satin CQC8 and it is a great knife.

What a pity ! The CQC8 is a very nice knife... I'm looking for a big field/fighting folder and the CQC8 is just what I need (except for the blade finish)

Never mind ! I will try to find an another model (I'm sorry but the custom model seems to cost 1.500 $ : I can't afford it...)

If you care that much for the knife, why don't you just get one and have the blade polished to get rid of the coating?
That way you'll get the knife you want, and a hell of a flashlight, all for a VERY nice price on both.
1SKS has them at $271 shipping included :)
