Been thinking about purchasing this smaller version of the Dieter CQD, can I have a quick review of this MoD knife from those of you Knife Knuts out there that has one?
Also, where can I get the best deal?

Thanks for the input.:D

KBR,
I recently purchased a MKII and overall it is an excellent choice. The handle feels great in the hand and the lock up is tight. Overall appearance of knife is outstanding.
The only issue I have had with the knife was that the pocket clip was loose right out of the box. I went to tighten down the 3, small allen screws and the allen heads immediately stripped. I called MOD and they knew right off what I was talking about. The small screws just can't handle any torque at all. Their customer service was great, and they immediately sent me out a new bag of screws.
Lesson learned: Never attempt to apply any significant amount of torque to these (or any small allen screws). You must use blue loc tite on the threads and apply just a little pressure when tightening.
Other than that (which was probably my fault) I have no negative issues with the knife. I absolutely love it.

I just reviewed the larger MOD Dieter CQD MK 1 here and thread also contains some comments on MKii by others.

I just love the large one and the small one is at the very top of my to buy list. Another payday and I will order it. I am in love with them. The lock especially. Finally a lock that I think is damn near fool proof in a folder. Real hard use folders as well. Built like a tank.
The smaller stealth model is probably the best for EDC, but in jeans I dont mind the oversize nature of the MK1. These particular knives are what I was looking for in a tactical, emergency use folder. I got all black and serrated, as if I come up against some nylon line or slick wet poly rope, I want some serrations to start the cut. The knife I got had an extremely polished sharp edge. Scary sharp to exact. Everybody has an opinion but I just cant believe how much I like these knives. Some commented that their MKii was stiff, but my MK1 sure was not. MOD customer service is excellent from what I understand as well. Good luck-mike

Every MOD I have owned was stiff, but that's how I like them to come from the factory. It's just like you can actually "feel" those tolerances in your hand!
They do work in really easy though. Took mine about 1 night of working the blade to get it very smooth.

I've got both the big one and the little one in the auto config.
I have carried them for about a year now as an leo. Simply put they are awesome, the big one really does cut seat belts with that litle cutter, and the carbide glass punch can come in real handy when someone locks their door and I want in.

Harley45, I bet when you open their window with the carbide glass breaker, it gets their attention right quick.:D :D :D

Harley, that carbide punch is one of the main reasons that I like this knife and the MK 1. Boy, I got a good laugh out of your reply.

Anyway, I appreciate all of the input from all of you. One question that I didn't put in earlier, is in regards to the sheath that comes with the knife, how's the quality?

Sheath is OK, not great, but not bad. Its Black fairly heavy duty Nylon with velcro closure and works both for vertical or horizontal carry. I wish they had used a snap instead of velcro. If I tumble down a hill I would not count on velcro staying closed. It is possible however to clip the knife over the velcro and then close the sheath as well, this adds security. But..this leaves a little of the clip hanging out to scratch and catch on stuff as you walk by and possibly brush against it. All in all as good as most sheaths and functional. A simple rubber band around it will add security if its that much of a concern as well. A little sewing skill could add one of those back pack style push lock devices. It all depends if you want draw speed or fail proof retention.

One additional point. The glass breaker is reversible. A very small set screw can be backed out and the tungsten carbide point can be turned around to become an impact weapon with a rounded end rather than the sharpened glass breaker.

Nothing to add on the specs, but defiantly a good blade for the money
and you should be pleased.
