I have one, and my detent is pretty lousy too. Wish I knew a way to fix this, but what can ya do? As you stated, I love the knife otherwise. Used it working marine electric for awhile and it held up great. LC200N is a tough steel to beat in my book.Anyone get one yet? Is the detent stiffer? thats the only thing that bugs me about mine.
Not sure about that. If there were, it seems it would be a one and done type deal with the altering of the detent. That appears to be the general concensus' only gripe with the knife. With that said, I still love mine and I don't think I'd buy another even if they decided to address the issue. So I guess I'll just shut up.Has there been any CQI on the Caribbean, other than coating the clip?

Cool, thanks! This sucker is coming apart tonight then.Google "Spyderco Taichung Detent tuning /fix" :information in Spyderco Forums and Blade Forums comes up...also some videos!https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=82412
You can bend the lock tab to apply pressure or slightly enlarge the detent hole in the blade (the better way IMO) . Go slow and check often to make sure you don't overdue it. If you don't want to mess with the knife (voids your warranty ) send it in to Spyderco. Good luck....
I saw a couple people talking about that. I did tweak the lockbar slightly. I also used to a fine tip dremel and drilled out the littlest bit from the detent hole. Now I'm getting that little bit of grab that I needed from the detent before the blade deploys nice and smooth. Since I had it apart anyway, I also oiled the washers a tad and the detent ball path. Smooth as eggs now.If I had mine apart, I would just tweak the lock bar a bit. Have done this with others spydercos with success
Btw, the PE sheepsfoot was discontinued.
BHQ sold them at a deep discount price when the 2018-19 disco list came out, they had listed it that way for awhile as well. I do see they are back in stock now.No it wasn't. Where did you hear that? It came back in stock with the others after the CQI.

The list I am referring to is one that comes out late each year of models that are discontinued, the MAP policy no longer applies to those models. Typically dealers drop prices to clear out remaining stock on those models, 50%+ off MSRP is not uncommon. This model was released May 2018 and is not discontinued, I highly doubt BHQ was selling them at a "deep discount" the same year they were released, that's against MAP policy. Maybe they were marked down during a holiday bundle sale or something, but it had nothing to do with a "disco list", whatever that is.
