While at Blade back in June I picked up a Nyala and have thoroughly enjoyed it. But while I was engrossed in the offerings at the CR display case, I also handled a CR Professional Soldier. My initial impression was a good one, but I balked a bit at the price as I considered it a glorified (and expensive) neck knife. I've thought many times since the show about that knife and finally laid out the coins for one the other day. Since it arrived, I have used it for almost everything that requires cutting. It also works exceptionally well as a neck knife whether that was its' intended purpose or not. I have numerous neck and/or short 'pocket' fixed blades, but none that I enjoy using more than this PS. My only regret is that I did'nt buy it sooner.

I love mine.

It took me a bit of time to like the grip, but its a great knife. Esav was 100% right in that respect. I use mine as an EDC right now.

For me its much easier to hold/use than a cord-wrapped Izula. It feels safer.

I see it as a fixed-blade Sebenza replacement (if there is such a thing), much like the Nyala is reported to be. I hope to try that and a Bravo 1 soon to compare.

It, and my Shadow III, have me almost convinced that CR fixed blades are the way to go. Right now I like them as much as my Umnum and small Sebenza.

A large (micarta inlay) Sebenza would help tip the scales though. It may be in my budget by Christmas time, I hope. :)
