I would like to buy a fixed blade tanto because I think the point is much stronger
Is this a stupid or good choice .I will be using it as a camp knife.

I have a small Reeve tanto that I carried in Iraq as an all purpose tool and last resort weapon. It was perfect for that but I would not consider it my first choice for a camp knife a bit too small

CRK made the small limited edition NICA tanto fixed blade but does a limited number of LARGE ones each year as well. I have both, if you like tantos ( and I like tantos ) get the large one. You will NOT be disappointed!

I think the point is stronger myself. I have a large regular Sebenza and a large tanto Sebenza, and I generally carry the tanto, especially in the woods. I can get careless with that tip and not worry about it.

How big does a camp knife have to be? I think there's a 9" blade one-piece tanto, not a regular item, though. I know some guys use the Cold Steel Recon Tanto and the CRK would be a superior knife but along the same basic lines.

I say it's a good choice. There are tasks for which you'd want a finer point, but those are generally tasks you'd want a shorter blade, like a folder, anyway.

Sheesh. LaBella, what are you doing up at this hour??

deovolens, the big tanto I saw was LaBella's.
It's not the biggest CRK one-piece, though :D
