Looks like Ebony. CR has used that on a couple of sticks recently, along with curly maple and bloodwood. Very nice.

It's not Ebony. Looking at the other photos (you need to copy and paste....) it appears to be either cocobolo, or some type of rosewood.

My understanding is that Chris made all these personally. Think your best bet would be to contact CRK's direct and ask the question. Great stick by the way!

Hold on a minute here :D. Are you saying that CRK is once again making these walking sticks?

Thanks for all the feedback and linking the pics. I"ll send a few photo's to Mr.Reeve and see what he has to say. Thanks guys!

The snakewood and ivory has to be the best looking cane that I've seen. I heard that it was around the 1400.00 price range

Blade art have some listed right now but at $800 each :eek:

The price is over top for a walking stick even if has some Ti and a CRK logo.

^^^^The post a couple spots up tells you where you can get them...

Stunning piece you have there, I love the grain pattern!

This was written in another thread I posted in. This conversation took place 3 or 4 months ago between Anne and I.

"I received a call from Alycia at CRK about a couple of knives I have coming back from CRK (two older small Regular Sebenzas) and asked if she could find out how many of these were made. Got a call back from Anne today. Chris only made approximately 200 max from 1999 up thru 2003. There will never be anymore made (although he has, on a rare occasion, made one for a friend or two). Each one was unique and although there were some made fancier than others there were only limited numbers made with different wood. There were only three of the Rosewood(?) with ivory inlay made and, if you ever see them come up for sale, go for $2500.00 or more (the last time Anne saw one of the inlayed examples come up was five years ago). I saw one of the fancier ones go for almost $1500.00 approx. 5 to 6 years ago. I make full length Hickory walking staffs for martial arts and self protection for friends from time to time and I've been wanting one of these since Chris made the first one. They were made for that same purpose in mind according to Anne (self protection) due to the unrest in South Africa at the time with Chris's father in mind."

Not sure they have any now. That post was 4 years ago and I bought one of the three they had, lol. Actually the Snakewood and Ivory one in post 11.

Nick,
It was Snakewood and ivory that only three were made then. I couldn't remember which wood was used with the Ivory inlay but only three were made. That is one of the most sought after canes that Chris made (according to Anne) and that may have been an exclusive to Knife Art since those were the only three made.
