Crabbing with my son today !

Decided to nip down to the water and do a spot of crabbing with my son today while we waited for Mrs Pit to get home.

We were'nt having much luck with the crabs, here is my son pulling a couple of small ones outta the trap~

Soon after my son was shouting me thinking he had the mother of all crabs.....what a suprise we got !!!

Sweet. Last time I was on the coast in oregon I did a little crabbing with a buddy and seal messed with one of the pots, and we ended up losing it until we could get back during a low tide. we went right up to the buoy and it disappeared and never came back up as we were trying to get it.

Looks like a fun day with your boy.
 
If that's a smaller crab, I wouldn't want to step on one of the big ones! Great shots man.
 
Great pics Pit, that is the largest star fish I have ever seen. Did you eat him to.
 
Some really cool wildlife right around there :thumbup: That starfish looks otherworldly!
 
Sounds fun. I went crabbing in chincoteague, VA a while back; we used raw chicken breasts as bait, then scooped them up with a net. It actually ended up working better than our traps.
By the way; what is that thing in the second picture?
