Has anyone else dealt with this?
My 3101 watch is still under warranty but as I understand it, crystals aren't covered.
Has anyone had ANY service done by Luminox?
What's their turnaround like?

And FWIW.... my crystal was broken by a closing elevator door.
Didn't talke much force at all to crack that thing.
I was very surprised.

Hi GJW,

Sorry to hear about your watch! :( Major bummer!

I own three Luminox watches and have not had a problem or needed to use their service department.

In sending in back, explain that it broken under conditions it should have clearly survived. If they see evidence that your watch has not been abused, they may waive the fee.

After you deal with them, give us an update on your experience. I'd be curious if I ever need to use them. I hope I never will!

Take care.

my best buds luminox just quit on him - its out of warranty (about 18 months old) and he took it to a watch repair place(he thought battery was out) and they said the inside of the watch had gotten wet (?) and everything was ruined - WTF? how would that happen? crystal not cracked/back never been off- the watch has seen some honest wear, its his work watch and he does construction, but has not been abused - do you think he should send back to luminox?? thanks for any info - oh also anyone have there address??

I think I would be calling them. Please let us know how it turns out. Obviously the crystal shouldnt have cracked. The warranty does say that crystals arent covered, but what have you got to lose? The watch that was full of water must have been leaking before the warranty was up.

Manufacturer's write their warranties very carefully. They do so to protect themselves against a number of things...including abuse. They need grounds to deny warranty if it is so justified.

But, manufacturer's override their warranty policy all the time in the name of "good customer service." Just explain what happened and explain calmly/rationally that it should not have happened under those conditions and that something must have been wrong with it from the factory. Unless the watch looks abused, you have a fair chance to have it covered under warranty.

Again, sorry for the problems and let us know how it turns out.
