This is where the Cracker Jacks come from in the title, remember you get peanuts and a prize in every box of Cracker Jacks, well in that lovely triangle box that had the Gelbu there was also a Purna Yek Chirra!
True story, I'm not making this up and I got pictures to prove it.
The short review is NICE!
I almost think Thamar and Purna have to be related, both are beyond exceptionally talented.
The Yek feels in hand very similar to the Thamar Curved spine, one of my personal favorites. I don't know the weight, I found me a postal scale I'm gonna get next trip to town, but I'm sure it's similar to GB's which I think was around 30 if memory serves.
Lets get to the eye candy-
Worth noting this one was in the words of Auntie, (scary sharp), needs nothing in that department.

The bull mark and Thamars mark below.

Here's a shot of the Yek above the Thamar Curved spine for comparison. Both have very traditional line and feel very similar in balance and weight. The handles are nearly identical and just exactly the way I like them.

And just for grins a photo of a genuine WWII British Gurka knife above the Yek and the Curved spine. Scored from Gehazi for some work trade, incredibly nice shape and the sheath is near perfect as well.

Another never part, with prized blade I'm just tickled to add to my collection. Thanks so much Auntie
Also my first Bull knife, and hopefully first of many, but please don't tell my wife that, seriously, keep this under your hat.

I think I got all the pictures, photobucket is being goofy this morning and I'm no photographer, kind of fake my way through.

My recommendation on Purna to all my pals here. GET ONE! ASAP! No remorse, you'll be happy as me right now. Well maybe not quite that happy but pleased some for sure.

Wowwza! Now theres a Happy New Year! Amazing craftsmanship! Beautiful knife Bawanna! Looks good with all you other bent ones. The ASTK-like handles look very nice:thumbup:

So THAT'S where my Yek Chirra ended up. I suspected that Auntie must have accidently put it in with somebody else's order. I'll PM you with my address... just kidding.

Looks like a great handle. The upper part at the flared end of the handle is not so pointy, while the lower part is extra large, like on an axe handle.

Goooooood morning everyone! Absolutely drooling Bawanna, need me a thamar and purna so bad :/ back from holidays and back to sharking :)

Very attractive handle on the Yek. I like it a lot. Two in a triangle! You're a lucky man, Bawanna.

I think the handle on the curved spine is just a tad longer but it's equally comfortable for me. They actually feel very much the same even thought the bell is much more pronounced on the curved spine.

The curved spine is probably a bit more bow heavy (that's Navy talk I reckon). But the weight feels pretty close to the same.

I am indeed a very lucky man, can't argue that one tiny little bit. I'm very lucky.

WOW very nice man, those are some beauties for sure, you must be on Aunties bestest list :D

Just plain awesome Bawanna. It looks like a twin to my Purna Yek Chirra. I love that Thamar curved spine even more. It reminds me of the Goorkha army khuk. Very impressive collection you old dog ;)

I keep posting about the "feel" of the Purna Yek... It really must be held to be understood. Glad to see it next to the Thamar. I also agree with you about Purna and Thamar being psychic blood brothers (DC Cab reference :D). . There work is a extraordinary, just awesome!

Oh... You are correct about the 30oz weight. It hides the weight very well due to the chiruwa handle. It's not as fast as my Thamar Dui Chirra but it is a more "powerful" khuk. It will only take one swing from the razor sharp Purna Yek to produce devistation.

Is this the Purna & Thamar depository and functional test reporting facility in the great North West?

Well sir, that's what you see above ground, looks like sometime last summer, surprised your drone didn't catch me on my riding lawn mower with my KLVUK slung over my shoulder and 1911 on the hip.

All of the test facilities are of course underground. Hmm no cars in the driveway, appears abandoned?

Your very sneaky mr. Note to self, be very very careful around this man.

As soon as it warms a bit I plan to test the Curved Spine and the Yek Chirra on them maple trees. Might take a spell but I got time ya know.

I've looked in your back yard, too, Bawanna. You can run, but you can't hide. No drone, either. We were just driving by with my cousin looking the countryside over whilst going to a secret KKK meeting. Yes, the Kool Khukuri Klub has to meet in secret so we can keep from flooding the membership with max crowds. No Union Hall or community center is large enough to handle crowds like that, you know.

Please don't tell what you saw back there. I'll pay. Keep clam.

And please no need to drug my dog next time, she was groggy for a week and just not herself. She don't bite no how, just barks her fool head off and licks you plumb insane. She nibbles at ya but don't bite.

Great pix and post, thank you for sharing

A co worker who I've never met till this morning (city is getting too big I guess) brought me a few hunks of cedar for much needed wood stove kindling. Sure beats tearing the siding off the neighbors house even though I'm not all that fond of them anyhow.

I plan to give the Yek Chirra and the curved spine a test workout, one evening or for sure this weekend.

As my partner in crime the helio pilot suggested, work results are as important as looks, fit and finish and down right beauty. So work they shall get. The weak link in the activity of course is me but I shall put forth my best effort.
