cracks! er cr@pola. looks like the machax that just came to me, apparently owned by one of the stewarts of blackjack, with a rather odd factory sharpened false edge.

sadly, it also has two one inch-ish cracks in the blade surface.

i don't think they are inclusions, but stress cracks from a poor heat treat?

i'm 100% sure they will chip out if ever (shock!) used...

i'm going to send it back, but figured i would share the love first. anyone seen a "hog hunter" styled machax before? give to me? :) yesss... precious :>

Total bummer. I hate to hear and see that.

That's 0 for 2 on the last couple of blades from them, isn't it?

they are in the process of making the first one right for the cost of postage and time.

this one? very unique. probably a refund. they guarantee it.

it's interesting that those photos have just enough oil and dirt to hide the cracks... and the stand is situated JUST right for same.

i'm not saying don't buy it. i would say "ask questions" and "ask for better photos"

i also haven't been given notice that they received the item i sent back, nor that they have sent a refund. grrr.

who's going to honor it? mark stewart? he sold it from his personal collection... one of a kind.

i don't know mark at all, in any way, shape or form.

update: the seller refunded ALL my money. they informed me that they don't want to have any further business with me. looks like i'm clear as soon as that check cashes, less $30 in postage.

becker knives rule. that's all i have to say.
