My machete that i have has been good to me but I noticed some small cracks on the blade is there anyway i can fix it. so i was thinking maybe sanding it down might help but idk so i just left it alone an came here to see how you guys might solve hairline crack on a blade.

Some of the cheaper machetes have a clear coating on the blade. You can remove it quite easily witch some wet sandpaper. If it isn't just the coating and the crack line is in the steel, throw it away and buy a new one. My ultra cheap tramontinas served me well for years.

Then buy a new one before you or someone else gets hurt. As already mentioned they are cheap. Though I have never had one with cracks. Sanding will just get you a shinier crack.
You may want to mention the brand and we can gives some suggestion. My Ontario has been serving me for decades. I have a few others, but it is my go to.

In a machete it can be a sign that the blade is ready to go air-born independent of the person swinging it.

Gerber bolo machete is what i got

Gerber Bolo Machete made of 1050 carbon steel.

Being relatively novice and absolutely inexperienced in forging, stock removal, and blade making I can still figure out that 1050 is one of the steels that is easy to get right and harder to screw up. It's naturally very tough. They must have really been asleep at the wheel when they made your Machete.

I would first want to find out if these Gerber Bolos have a history of defects like this and avoid them like the plague if they do. Do multiple google and youtube searches and ask questions in forums like this. People get pissed and make youtube videos and complain on forums when they run into problems like this. If it's widespread you will probably see lots of complaints. Amazon reviews (I don't like what I read about this one on Amazon) on the product may be helpful.

Safety issues usually get quick refunds or replacements for fear of lawsuits. A phone call using words like "I think it's good enough with this crack in it. " "Should I keep using it ?" might have them virtually begging you to send it back to them in exchange for a hand picked prime sample or refund. That is just a guess I really don't know though.

If they tell you it's good avoid doing business with them like your life (or maybe other) depends on it because it may.

Where are the cracks, though.
Finally someone said it.

If it's just the edge and the cracks are tiny, then you can simply reprofile the edge and you should be good to go. If it's along the spine, then you may be able to grind that section of the spine off before it gets too bad. If it's just the tip, then grind off the tip and reprofile it. If it's anywhere else, then chuck the machete into the metal recycling container at your local waste dump. The only way to fix it would be to reforge the entire thing, so you might as well just toss it.
