First off I thank Mike Craddock, Larry Parson, Mike Sakmar, and Jim Cooper for their professionalism, expertise, and creativity. I contacted Mike Craddock about a dress personal carry, knowing what materials I wanted and the general look that I was going for. This is what Mike drew up: exactly what I had in mind

Then I contacted Mike Sakmar about a .25 thick 3 toned mokume gane billet. After a few conversations, Mike S. forged a very nice billet that has a nice tight, controlled twist and welded without flaws. Thanks Mike. Here is what is left of the billet.

I knew that I wanted Larry to do the sheath. Larry and I had several great conversations on the phone and all that I knew I wanted was the inlay of mokume on elephant. The rest was left up to his creativity, and I think it looks awesome. I can't thank everyone involved enough. True professionals and good people.
I don't have exact specs, maybe Mike does, but should be around 5 in. W2 blade, explosion damascus guard and butt cap, walrus ivory handle, Mike Sakmar 3 toned mokume spacer and inlay.

That really came together nicely - hats off to all who contributed. I like the mokume ferrule and inlay on that spectacular sheath.

Knife looks great but that sheath, well to paraphrase Boggs...DANG! Just makes me feel like like throwing my leather working tools in the trash. ;)

I've never seen a knife OR a sheath by Mike and Larry that didn't impress me. In this case, so much more so.

Bladeforums reduces the size of the images for filesize reasons. Here it is again:

This is going to place a BIG smile on your face, Kris. It sure did for me. :D

Great concept to actualization.

Thank YOU!

Jim

Kris, Thanks for posting this, it was fun doing this for you. ( 5 3/8" W-2)

Thanks to all you others for the comments.

Mike

I know I certainly enjoyed the process, visiting with Kris and Mike the pics are beautiful too. Imake lots of standard sheaths and it's always fun to be turned loose and roll with the flow. Thats what craftsmen work for not always cash but the enjoyment of the craft whether it be knives or leather it's a passion, when people have it it shows. Larry.
