A Woggle made from a Black Walnut..
I needed about 10 of them, however ended up making about 50 in the process, and Easily broke just as many...
There are a hard but to drill,, and care must be taken, or them simply explode from the vibration...
By the last 10 or so I had the process nailed down...
First a small pilot hole,, then a much larger hole 5/8" I believe.. A spade bit doesn't work well on these..
Then after knocking all of the meat out I proceeded to carve away the chambers with a Coarse round file in the drill press.. This went actually pretty quick..
To give them more stability I used 5 min epoxy on the entire inside, although simply doing the seams would suffice... These were not only as a craft,, but a commemorative woggle I gave to my entire class including Instructors
When they were done and epoxy was set I again carved out any excess epoxy, clear coated them with 2 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear and then cleaned off any residual hardener that leached out of the epoxy..
I think they turned out pretty cool and everyone really liked them...
Thanks for all of the suggestions,, it really got me thinking..
BTW
