I just bought some craftsman buffing compound to put on my leather board and was wondering who had experience with it?I have 4 different kinds and not sure what to use or in what order.

I used black emery cake last night and it got the knife to shave but I'm assuming I need to go over it again with a finer kind.Like bark river has the black and the green.

I have black emery cake,tripoli(brown),white rouge,red rouge.

Anyone use this?

No, we all use the good stuff.

Just teasing, but a few dollars worth of the Best compound will last for years, so there's no sense using stuff that just has more waxy gunk and less abrasive,

The white stuff is what you want to use after the black. The other stuff is for plastic and plated items like jewelry, I believe. I'm sure it says on the back of the package.

Your not buffng anything so I would use a strop/honing compound. handamerican would be a good start.

Liquid compounds are much easier to apply too.
