Looks like the Camillus Large Deluxe Lockback. Did Camillus make this for Sears? If so, what was the origin of A.C.A. (Amazing Cutting Action)? Sears? Camillus?

I picked up one of my own a couple of weeks ago. Hope someone answers the question for us. I had heard that all 5 digit model numbers were Camillus but I don't think so. Other Craftsman/Sears ones I have are 95206, 95233, 95416, 94609, 95077 and one that is marked Craftsman with no model number but looks like a Schrade LB7. Yours is in better shape than the one I got and I didn't get a sheath. Nice Pictures!!

They where made by Schrade, they where there "Imperial Frontier series"this is one that I have with the same tangstamp as yours.

Thanks, edbeau! I don't know if the placement of the rocker pin is a clue, but it appears to be the same on the Camillus Woodcraft Lockback/Camillus Large Deluxe Lockback (1994, 1996, 2003, 2006 Camillus catalogs) as it is on the 95206, 95233, 95416 and 95708 from what I could find. I couldn't find good images of the 94609 & 95077, but I didn't do an extensive search. Is the rocker pin placement the same on those as well? The rocker pin placement combined with the curve of the top bolster leads me to think Camillus. But I'm a novice and I'm guessing :)

Ironmage, the folding hunter may have indeed been made by Schrade. I'm not so sure about the large lockbacks referenced above. For instance, some of the Schrade LB7s have similar placement of the rocker pin, but the top bolsters on the LB7s are kind of flat... at least on the ones I've seen. Again, I'm new to this and really don't know.

"9" was the Sears department number. IIRC, the 95416 appear in the spring/summer 1993 Sears catalog and were made for Sears by Camillus. Some in the AE series were made by Schrade Walden/Schrade/Imperial Schrade. American Eagle was a trademark of IKAC. I don't find a registration of A.C.A. edge, but have seen it mentioned on Camillus S cards.

You could be very right,I do see what your saying about it looking like a LB7.I know the folding hunter I posted was made by Camillus for Imperial so the lockback might be a Camillus.I'll check my notes and see what I come up with.

Ironmage, Camillus "S Cards" were posted in the past and the Imperial Frontier series was made by Camillus. I am also a collector of Imperial Frontiers and have 110 in my collection.

I have the "no number" as well. It is an early LB-7 SFO using smooth black Delrin in my opinion. Mine came to me with the black Craftsman sheath, NIB, box end marked 95078 Craftsman A.C.A. Edge Lock Back and the American Eagle logo on the box top. The enclosed paper describer A.C.A. Edge: A unique final-edging process gives the A.C.A. Edge stainless steel blade outstanding sharpness... Cuts three times faster than our carbon steel blades. I however, suspect that a prior owner switched boxes and this is not a 95078.

I smiled when I read edbeau's comment that he had found another 95078... because I had forgotten that I had the 95233 and the Camillus 9!

Schrade 7-OT

Here's what I meant about the bolsters in post #4. While not an LB7, the 7-OT is basically built the same way if I'm not mistaken:

Not seeing your pictures but it could be something with my work computer. The sad part of not knowing what I have is that I do log all my knives in my computer. Need to open the file and look.

I just got some new information about these knives. The Frontier knives were made by Camillus for Imperial.I would say that the lockback are made by Camillus also.

The Imperial Frontier 5" Lockback Model 4815 was made by Camillus. The Imperial Frontier Folding Hunter Model 4625 was made by Camillus.
