Any answers on this, like who made it? all it say is cratsman USA. and the etch says bear head. The neatest thing is how the tang stamp is upside down and faces the blade not the handle. Kind of different. and the actuall bear head its kinda cool too. Just thought you guys would know who made it schrade camillus etc. ?? and when it was made. it looks more like a dog to me than a bear.

It is a Schrade Walden. Baer made the bear. The Sears buyer liked them and they sold a buttload of them. The figural pommel looks more like a polar bear (is it grinning?), but a lot of eBayers list it as a dog. The factory number changed with the years and with the handle materials. Wondawood is one I have seen, and with colored spacers. It is the same blade pattern as the 41OT. Sears likewise changed their inhouse numbers for them over the years, but I don't believe I have seen their numbers stamped on the blades of this pattern.

9547 - SW 141BH Fixed Blade (1959)
627 - SW 141BH Fixed Blade (1960)
9534- Walden 141 Fixed Blade Wonda-wood handle, bear head pommel
10627 - SW 141BH (1964)
21541 - SW 141BH (1967)
21641 - SW 141BH (1967)
21651 - SW 141BH (1971)
73615 - SW 141BH (1972-77)

Michael Ive never really looked for these on ebay or anything, you said they sold a ton of these are they very rare, as Id never seen one before, but I havent been around the block that many times. I bought this one with the hope of using it as a trader, cause I love my ot's but like you said it is the 41ot pattern, too bat the tip of the blade is chipped. dang. thanks for the help codger you da man.-Joel SO what model would you consider mine?

I don't know of a way to tell without the original packaging or a catalog illustrating it in detail. Buy up Sears fall and winter, and hunting catalogs from 1958 thru 1974 and share with us!

The 41OT has a different handle, sawcut staglon. Look around 1970-71 on Larry's Collectors-of-Schrades-r.us site. Link up top.

Here are my four.Top is a Craftsman.Second is a Schrade-Walden Etched Ted Williams.Bottom two are Schrade-Walden.Notice the different tang stamps, guards, spacer colors and there are slight differences in the Bears Heads.Arnold
