Craftsman Stockman warranty question.

Recently i received a couple beautiful traditional folders. An old Case which, sadly, has a broken backspring, and a nice Craftsman.

The Craftsman in question is a model 95068, i believe made in the late 70's. It's in great condition, the picture below is just stock, if anybody would like pictures of my particular knife I'd be happy to share. I'm just getting into traditionals.

Now to the question... I've been using Craftsman tools for many years, it is my preferred brand because of their Zippo-esque warranty. If it breaks, in any way whatsoever, they replace or repair it. I'm wondering if this warranty is the same for their pocket knives. I've done research but can not find anything on this. Any help would be appreciated.

I somehow doubt the Sears/Craftsman warranty would apply, since it's likely the mfr of the knife (contracted by Sears; not made by them) doesn't even exist anymore. I think Schrade and/or Camillus made most of those, and both have long been out of business (and Sears may be headed in that direction too; they're in pretty bad financial straits these days).

Even if they did actually 'replace' the knife, who knows what they'd replace it with, other than something of 'equal monetary value'(??). No way they'd be able to replace it with an identical one, if it's a '70s vintage knife.

That is a logical way of seeing it, i suppose. Thank you for the reply, David.

My reply may have sounded cynical, and I hate that. But I'd be shocked if Sears found a way to cover that under their warranty (stunned and impressed, but still shocked). Sorry to sound so glum... :frown:

No worries, man. It did seem a bit cynical but then i realized how dumb my question actually was so it was completely warranted. Thanks again for your reply.
