Sears sells a Craftsman brand Stockman knife. Anyone know what USA company makes it and what steel the blades are?

Hi,

Camillus handle's that contract, you won't be disappointed, they make great knives:). The steel is 440A:).

I think all the Craftsman knives were made by decent manufacturers. I have a couple that are schrade waldens. What a treat.

some are made by chicago cutlery, some by camillus. I believe schrade has made some also (if Im not mistaken?).

Hi Rev,

Yep, Albert M. Baer(and the brands he worked for:)) handled the Sears stuff. The vast bulk was/is made by Camillus, but a little went to Schrade, Ulster, Imperial,... Camillus has made reference to have the current contract.

The good thing about the Sears brand knives are, you can always bring the knife back to your local Sears if it breaks. I once found a Sears pocketknife that had been run over by a bus. Yep, I took it back to Sears and got a brand new one.
