Greetings all, Craig emailed me with some pics of my knife that is nearing completion. She is an approx 4" forged 1084 blade with stag. I am unsure of the rest of the hardware though. She sure looks pretty, and having recently gotten a nice bird and trout from him, can testify that it will be a fine knife. Well here goes my virgin attempt at posting a pic or two....

nice looking knife. got my Bowie just today so I'm sure you will enjoy your knife. He does some nice knives.

Craig does great work. He made me this fantastic kerambit and is also working on a folder for me. Highly recommended.

Looks very nice! I'm really looking forward to drooling all over that one. ;) :D

That's a real nice little knife Mongo - a very handy-looking design.

Cheers,

Roger

If you guys could've heard the blue streak coming out of my office yesterday while I was trying to post this one... I wasn't even aware that it went through! I had seriously tried at least 8 times to get that pic up. Well, now that I know it is indeed possible, here goes my attempt at the other side of the knife...

I like it, but I find the ricasso to be too long. Probably just me, but it just doesn't look quite right on a blade that length.

I admit the ricasso looks a little long, but on the bird and trout model I have from him, it has a similar ricasso/choil... it just feels right for choking up and doing a little fine work. I can hardly wait for her to arrive. I throw a little feed-back when she comes.

I just opened my package from Craig Camerer today, and I must say that this knife surpassed my expectations. The fit and finish is incredible. The blade has a nice flowing clip about 2/3rds of the blade, and I must say that the long ricasso/choil that Keith commented on is a definate plus on this model. It fits my finger perfectly to allow choking up for fine work. The knife balances just behind the guard making the blade very fast in the hand. The handle is two stag slabs fitted together quite nicely with a swell at the butt of the knife. The stag has some nice color and grain to it as well. It also came with a nice slightly canted horizontal leather sheath with some nice decorative tooling to the front and retention strap.
Over all, this is an excellent knife by a very talented maker. I know that this will not be my last knife by Craig, and I would whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone else looking for a fine knife at a good price.
Off to go cut something,
Mongo

Keith,

The dimensions look about right. It may be the deep grind to the spine and the finger groove that make it seem a little bit odd.
