Craigslist finds?

About once a week I search for "knife" on my local craigslist. It comes up with some interesting knives....... somebody has a Strider MFS right now. Most of them are BudK knives...

Has anyone ever found any good knife buys on craigslist?
 
I did this a few months (for a few weeks), and found some random Kabar USMC's, and one guy that was liquidating a bunch of Busse knives. The rest of it is all BudK stuff, or fantasy/sci-fi items. So far I've never seen anything worth buying, but to be fair I didn't look for too long.
 
I've done this too, and discovered there are way too many guys selling fantasy knives and other junk. Not many name brands at all. I've expanded my searches to include "Spyderco" and "Benchmade", and check all neighboring CL regions too with few results. The one surprise I found was a guy selling a half-dozen Randalls, but I wasn't in the market.

i keep searching, but you have to be careful. a few weeks ago I came across 4 spyderco PM2 at a good price......they were fakes, but what a waste of time.
 
Well this inspired me to check my local listings. Things weren't looking so good. It was Frost, Frost, and more Frost. Until all of the sudden I spotted this:

Nope, nada, zip, zilch on CL up here in the Canada.

I found one dude close to me on Kijiji pretending he was a knife dealer but his prices were above MSRP for used knives so... :eek::rolleyes::confused:

No sale.
 
Just looked. Someone's selling a WH! For a grand.
 
Here in Denver there's always a good amount of Spydercos listed, sometimes rarer ones. Today I saw a couple of Spyderflys. A couple weeks back someone had a very nice looking DDR up for sale. Always tons of fantasy/MN, and today you can get 1500 of these for only $90:

Lots:
CRK Mnandi with Damascus ($300), CRK professional soldier ($100), pacific ($200).
Szazbofly ($100), Spyderfly, mini-morpho, and beat up BM63 (all 3 for $200), emerson cqc15 ($100), BM infidel ($105), some others I can't recall right now. I've sold every one of them. REALLY miss the Infidel.
 
There's a guy in the Louisville, KY area who keeps a couple of the antique malls stocked with his stuff and who lists stuff on CL. Mostly it's been reworked or polished, and not well. He's ruined hundreds of decent old traditional folders.
 
There are quite a few here in CA. I've picked up some. I got a WH, 3 sebenzas some benchmades, emersons and spydercos. There are even some higher end stuff, (striders and microtechs, Randalls), from time to time. My CL pulls from LA to San Diego so there are a lot of people in this market. Ive got some good deals but no real steals. You have to wade through a lot of crap, but every once in a while you find a gem
 
Here in KC it is usually kitchen knives, frost cutlery and the few people that have good quality stuff think their knives are worth 50% more than street price...
