I saw a Collins Hudson Bay pattern on craigslist a few weeks ago for $35.00. I called the number and the guy said someone else had already called about it, but he would right my number down in case the other guy backed out. He called today, said he still had it and a few more from cleaning out his dad's barn, so I went and looked at them.

Left to right: Winchester, Collins, Norlund, and Norlund.

I gave the guy $120 for all four. So how did I do? Is the big Norlund a rafting pattern or something else?

Thanks

Randy

Would I be a poser knowing nothing about axes if I said the one on the far right is stupendously cool?

5 minutes with an angle grinder/wire brush and I can make the second from the left look about like the one on the right.:) but yes, the Norlund Hudson Bays are pretty popular.

WEll you have two norlunds, which always sell for nice money, then a Collins there too I wouldn't mind taking off your hands...your winchester if in good condition with good imprint is worth a ton....

So well done.

You want to unload the Collins please let me know.

Thanks!!

Thanks, Operator. I will let you know. I am covered up right now trying to get ready for a knife show in 2 weeks, so this will probably sit untouched until then.

I am a knife guy who messes with axes, not a real axe guy. ;) so I checked on the auction site before I went to see/buy the axes. Winchesters go for stupid $$$$$ and I already knew Norlunds were popular. Both Norlunds have been rehafted with fat flea market handles so they dont feel that great. Thinning the handles will help, whenever I get time. Since I dont have another rafting pattern, I am definitely keeping that one for now. The Collins feels good in the hand and has a decent edge; it may get some use on a camping trip next weekend.

If I decided to get rid of the Collins, I will let you know, Operator. Maybe we can work a trade or something.

Randy
