Yep it's true .... I'm a moron! I have been buying beckers for almost 2 years and never felt the need to buy micarta scales. This was based on my experience with esee, condor and ontario micarta scales. I have bought wood sets from tommythewho and have been more then impressed with them..... However I recently bought a BK 3 off the exchange which came with the micarta at a great price and it arrived today...what can I say. These are far and away the best micarta scales I have ever used.... They were immediately put on my BK 2 and directly followed by an order to dale at TKC for a set for my 16. Anyways like I said...

Yep, you're a dummy!:D

I've got micarta on most of my Beckers and wood scales on a couple. I'm not real sure but I believe I've only got one Becker with factory grivory.

Congrats on the new steel and the micarta goodness!

Some more micarta is a definite for me down the line. Very comfy. And you have some great blades in that photo, is that one of the serrated BK2's on the lower right?

Yep a camillus era serrated BK 2...it is a little thinner then the current Bk2 and feels great in the hand.

I have micarta on as many of my Beckers as I can. I greatly prefer it.

I have one set of micarta, it's on my wife's (now) 11. She likes it I suppose...awe who am I kidding, she don't give a rat's arse either way. Me? I'm more of a Grivory or Zytel guy. Maybe if I get the cash and have a momentary lapse in knife procurement will I splurge for micarta or G10. Until then, I live vicariously through the rest of you money bags!

That's pretty much the only thing keeping me from putting micarta on all my BK&T knives. It's costly, and that money can always purchase a new knife. Got one set, yesterday....I really really like them, but....

By no means a money bags just an understanding wife .... Just don't tell her i collect knives as the understanding might go away :D

Just grabbed a set for my stripped 9. Huge improvement on something I didn't think you could improve.

I should do my 16 also. That would be really sweet. I'll have to check weight specs though, as I wear mine as a necker.

yeah, the factory micarta is really excellent, especially compared to a lot of what you see out there. Much of the non-kabar factory micarta is slabs that are simply routed out to match the tang and knock off the edges. Kabar's CNC micarta is really a great product, rough as the finish is. And frankly, the roughness matches the roughneck nature of the blades.

Glad you like them man! They really did make a huge difference, I'm glad they went to someone who could appreciate them. : )

I've only had one set of micarta scales for several years. At one time or another they were on my 2, Brute and maybe a Mag Camp ? Anyway, I find that for myself personally, that these grips on the 2 fit me to a ''T'' ergonomically. I slathered the screws in Loctite the put a few drops on the ends. I think that I will never take them off again. Sometimes a set up becomes symbiotic. The slab colour blends into my Combat master sheath like they were designed together. I am finicky and always modifying or fiddle farting around with knife\sheath combos to find the right set up. I am finally content with how my 2 is set up and I like it even more now. I am an opinionated a-hole and do what I want, when I want. So haters of the 2 can hate, while I have boat loads of fun with my ''finished'' 2.
:)
