Took my Badger out for its first hike today. We did 10 miles in Sterling Forest, which is about a 45 minute drive northwest of New York City. It was a beautiful day for a hike, 55 degrees and sunny. The fall colors while not particularly vivid were nevertheless quite beautiful, as you probably can't see from my crappy cell phone photos. But even in a blurry pic this badger looks quite nice.

Just did some light chopping today to break it in. I really have to thin the edge a bit. I originally just sharpened the factory bevel which looks to be about 20 degrees per side. Whenever I get some time I'm taking it down to 12 degrees per side, maybe less.

I never get tired of that snakeskin design. Thanks for the pics.

Pretty darn good for a phone cam... beats the s*** out of my Moto Q's camera, LOL! Thanxx for posting them! :D:thumbup:

Looks like a great place for a hike!

Those colors are a little late this year???

He's a really great dog. Whip-smart and loyal. We've been doing regular 10-15 miles hikes throughout the year since he was a pup and he's never shown any signs of fatigue and only once have I had to carry him over an obstacle, a vertical ladder. Without even thinking, he'll jump up onto a fallen tree and cross a creek. I love him dearly and he never complains when I buy new knives. :)
