All right then...

That was paramillie's pivot:

Head completely stripped out, when I was adjusting the pivot, to remove light side to-side blade play
Previously I've got similar situation with Millie's backspacer, Sage clip and Cara-Cara G10 screws.

My bigh and honest request to Sal :o
I know you are listening to customers voice while making / modifying new models, please - no, I beg you - do something with that rubbish hardware :(

Yikes, I've stripped a ton of screws so I feel your pain. I was scared this was going to happen when I unscrewed the clip from my ZT302, but luckily the torx screwdriver got twisted and ruined instead...:o

LOL :D

Forgotten to mention: Spydie CS obviously is willing to help, what makes me happy :D
But anyway - stripping shouldn't happen so easily imho, not when it comes to pivot :(
I hope they will do something with that someday

I had the same problem with one of the screws on my para. I tightened all of the screws in the handle when one had come loose. After that, I took the screws out to put some blue loctite in to remedy the issue, but one of the screws was stripped from the one time I tightened it. Not a huge deal though, as it is one of the screws at the bottom of the handle.

Never had a problem. Were you tightening or loosening these?

The only one I ever had a problem with was a Superhawk, and they didn't want to budge. Rather then strip them out or break something I just sent it in.

I'm not an expert but I'll toss a wild guess... Chris Reeve knives suffer from this same phenom. Way too soft fasteners. No carbon. My Sebenza has "rounded" fasteners from simple dis/re-assembly. No hard torque required. When we give up carbon in the name of corrosion resistance, this is the price we pay. :(

that sucks, the para that I used to have also had a screw stripped. the G-10 Delica that I have also has one stripped screw.

I've personally never had a problem with screws from other companies, I do wish they fix this problem.

I figured it would just be my Tenacious with this problem. I see it's not just Chinese screws thatdo this. Thanks for the heads up. Good thing Spyderco has a great warranty

I just got my replacement screws from Spyderco today.Took my para apart and bam! stripped a handle screw.I wish Spyderco would harden their screws.

The pivot screw on my Endura just stripped the other day. Cannot tighten or loosein it. Very annoying.

I'm not sure but its either 316 or 316L stainless is pretty hard and its not going to rust. Its the stainless steel utilized for instrument panels and housing on the offshore plat forms in the Gulf of Mexico. Its expensive though and I think its difficult to work with but you hardness and corrosion resistance there you go.

That's not stripped, the head of the screw torqued right off!
I'd say it was a defective screwhead, that's never happened to any of my knives, and I've disassembled just about every one of them.

this happens to all of my spydies too, i hate it  happens to a few other brands i own as well. i always use the correct tool for the job, whether its t6, t8, allen, or something else. the fasteners are just too damn soft IMO.

You know if you really wanted Sal to notice this you should have put it in the Spyderco manufacturer section.

But anyway: That's new to me, thanks for the heads up, I'll try and be more carefull now on.

I'm not sure about spyderco, but I remember reading that CRK has a softer screw for its clip because it screws directly into the titanium handle. Its better to strip a screw than to strip the threads in the titanium handle and having to replace the whole scale.
