Woot! Postman just delivered it. It's a little smaller than I thought, but it's awesome. I'll try and post pics later.

From tip to tip, it's about 1" shorter than the Battle Guard and 1" longer than the Camp Tramp.

The Micarta is also lighter in color than the prototype pics and the spike end is not sharpened. It's quite heavy but very well balanced.

Got mine as well... very sweet... somewhere alont the line this rat tried to chew it's way out of the package... and the edge got laid over just a bit... about 5 min later with a rod and a strop and man... I could shave with it... I won't... but I could :D

Yeah, the spike end of mine poked through the box as well, but no damage to the steel or the coating, just the box.

Oooooh, here's hopin mine's in tomorrow. I wanna go chop down some trees or som'in!

About teh size I thought it would be. Mine might wind up in my car eventually - just in case, ya know. Those rogue trees that jump in my path would be instantly cleared. ;)

The original pictures were oiled.

Is there a reason for oiling micarta?

Mine had cardboard over it and was wrapped in plastic. I don't know how your's would have poked out of the box.

It was wrapped in carboard and plastic wrap and still managed to poke through the box. The wrapping held up, so the steel itself was never exposed, hence no damage. SRKW does a very good job of packing things, but the USPS mandandles stuff.

Mine came today too!:D :D :D

More sturdy than I thought it would be!
pics to follow...

My wife says I can't use it on any of our doors:thumbdn:

Dammit honey, I locked us out of the house by accident. Oh wait, I just happen to have my Crash Rat in my hand, we're in luck. :D

gives them a uniform dark appearence... otherwise micarta thats light in color will tend to take on the oil and water moisture from where its most prevelent, normally wherever your palm is rests when using it.

other then that,
