I have a small fixed blade boot knife with a black micarta handle. It is marked Crawford and the number 85. It has a very thin pointed blade and leather sheath with a clip. I assume this is (was) a Pat Crawford standard model, but I don't see it on his website. Can anyone give me any information on this knife. I would also like an approximate value for a mint example. Thank you!

Email a picture to Pat Crawford and ask. As least you'll get the name of the knife and when it was in produciton. Then you'll have maybe sufficient info to get your other questions answered, such as current value.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I just did not want to bother Mr. Crawford if this is a very common knife that most of the members here were familiar with. I will e-mail Pat a picture and ask for what info he can give me. Thanks.

Janie told me that Pat's out of town and will be back soon. Be patient.

1) Do you have a picture you could post to the forum?

2) Pat is a super nice guy and will not consider it a bother to talk to you.

:) I e-mail Crawford knives and got the following response from Wes.

"Dear Jerry,

Thanks for the e-mail. This is a boot spike made between 1978 and 1982. It has a 440C blade and nickel silver guard. It looks like a micarta handle. Probably originally sold for about $125, valued now around $400 to $500. We won't make anymore of these.

Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Wes"
