I've been wanting a Pat Crawford design for years. Custom would be great but on hand would be fine. I find his knives uniquely elegant. I'm looking for input; happy with yours? Which one did you purchase?

Had a standard KFF and it was built like a tank. Very comfortable handle and useful blade shape. I briefly had a Ti Framelock Perfigo too but I didn't like the design issues. It looked awesome but with all the holes in it, including the lockbar as it was a framelock, the lockbar moved all over the place. I still think the Perfigo is a cool design but I'd probably go with a linerlock if I ever got another one. My only real complaint about Crawford designs is they are all tip down. I even asked Pat about moving it at one time and he declined.:(

i too have a Ti kasper folder and a perfigo, both great knives, F&F is also good, carried the kasper quite a bit it was my 1st custom, only complaint is the tip down carry, if it was tip up i think i would carry the perfigo a lot more, pats also good people and stands behind his work.

ive had a few crawfords, point guards, kaspers, right now i have a fully satin recon with worked spacer & jeweled interior, & full satin kasper. they are great knives, love those holes in the handles!the kasper is one of the coolest fighter designs ive seen imo.i got them used but mint; a new kasper these days will cost 550+ new;the days of the 375.00 customs seem to be gone..........

Some guys just like it that way. You have a HUGE load of sebenza owners looking for the opposite

The advantage of tip up is that the knife is in the right position to open as you take it out of your pocket. The disadvantage of course is the messy possiblility that the knife would deploy while still in the pocket.

I actually think the possibility of opening is alleviated by tip down carry, at least if you carry the blade in you right front pocket. For you lefties it's a different story. Anyway, with RF carry of Tip Up, the opening is easier, and when carried, the blade is up against the seam of my pocket, and has nowhere to go, so no opening. Plus, the grip is more comfortable in every tip up knife I own, than all the tip down folders out there.

YMMV

I like Crawford designs, by the way, just to stay on topic.;)

Of course, it depends on where and how you carry the knife. Tip up is good for a standard grip (relaxed, thumb on top or side) but if you're into the fighting or 'Asian grip', then, ideally, you should be able to pull and angle your hand and knife fairly easily in the overehand fighting grip regardless of where the clip is or whether the knife is in a pocket or on a belt. I tested this myself and got good results but I could use a check on this; anyone?
