Crawford Spyderco

I believe Sal once said that he has one of those. Another forumite actually drilled his own spydie hole into the CRKT model!

Well, the fact that it's made at all, even as a custom, means that Pat and Sal have talked. Pat couldn't sell it if he wasn't paying royalties to Sal.

A production version from Spyderco, however? I don't think it would be a profitable endeavor. CRKT already makes one and their's has the LAWKS. If Spyderco made one, it woulnd't have the LAWKS, and while it would have an eccentric pivot and probably better steel, it would cost more. I don't think Spyderco would make good enough sales. John Q will walk into the local store, see the KFF from CRKT and the KFF from Spyderco. He'll see that the Spyderco version costs more and doesn't have the LAWKS. He won't care about the pivot or the better steel, he'll buy the cheaper one.

Of course, that's just my opinion: I could be wrong.

Hey what about the Crawford Perfigo? Spyderco could compete with the Camillus Mad Maxx with this large folder. How about that new lock used on the titanium Salsa? That big recurved blade would be FIERCE with the Spydie serrations.

That would be a beuty w/ a 5" blade and an opening hole like the Endura.

Anybody agree?

Hey, I'm the guy that made a "Spydie" hole in my 2 CRKT Kaspers. I still have them somewhere around here. It was a pretty fun project.

Big Target ~ Dude, the KFF was liscenced to CRKT.. Too bad we can't see a Spyder Round Hole version from Spyderland..

Pat and Wes's handmade KFF are excellent work of art. I once held a mini Kasper with the roundhole at the New York Custom knife show! :D And someday, when I grow up, I want to add the Kasper folder with the Spydie hole to my knife bag! ;)

ncblades,

Any chance of a pic or two of those? That is a tempting idea, and seems like it would not be that hard to to. One of those new KFF Professionals with aus8 steel and aluminum scales with a spydie hole might be very cool indeed.

i would buy a spydie/crawford perfigo w/a 5" blade so quick........if only ya would , have been thinking of buy a custom perfigo, go for it sal!!!!!!

I have received my Wortac from Pat & Wes. I also have a Kasper Folding Fighter with a hole from Pat. They did a very nice job, as usual.

I agree with Think on the the "Dual model" availability.

Pat has made a few Spyderco designs, nothing that flew...yet. one day?

i had a chance to buy number 5 of 10from joe pirella himself and passed like an idiot!....i could kick myself now....and yes pat crawford made those for pirella....they sold for 475 dollars each...feverdoc

That Pirela design is the one that needs to be done by Spyderco. I would pick that one up in a second.

I am the member that liked the idea and had Jake Evans make me one too...

He also slimmed down the handle a little - making it slimmer and taking off that CRKT ugly logo...LOL

Great carry knife - for very little money...

Now I have two "real" KFF's and the third is coming...this collaboration thing really does work...LOL

How about Pat Crawfords Combat Shark? Quite popular aamong smaller circles for sure. Perhaps under the Martial Bladecraft line?
