It's pronounced Crawfish. Mudbugs is an acceptable alternate. :D

This is what you do with them:

And some knife content.

We likes em down here.

Looks good! I made a batch of crawfish etouffee last week. My wife's not real big on crawfish, so I have to get my fix somehow. It's my fault really. When we were first married I brought home a bunch of crawfish to boil and put several in our large freshwater aquarium. Well some managed to crawl out of a small space in the corner where an aeration hose feed in during the night. The next morning she was fixing herself some hot tea in the kitchen when a mudbug clamped down on her toe and lots of screaming ensued, mostly directed at me. So live crawfish aren't exactly welcome around our place since then, but I still manage to sneak in some.

Just a ?- I have steamed them over rice but I was also told that you soak them briefly in salty water to get them to empty their gut? I have never done it but usually only eat the tails anywho. Not much on suckuing the body.
