All I can say is.....wow

I've seen other things like this too, saw a very basic Torrey straight razor for 150.....I paid maybe 20 for TW Same one and mine had more blade left, some people just have no sense on how to price things

And I wouldn't think this would be deal spotting......there is no way this is a deal
 
I saw that one several weeks ago and I sent him an offer. He was rather insulted and wanted to know why my offer was so low. I sent him a link for one that was nicer that started at $9.99. Apparently he wasn't amused and declined my offer. It didn't sell then and this is his second post. But...Ya never know...there's one born every day.

Maybe I'll send him another offer......

I have been tempted to post some Ebay auctions that were just ridiculous. I don't sell on Ebay but don't they charge you after the third re-list?
 
Pretty sweet. I also love how everything on ebay is "super rare, never gonna see another one of these"

My other favorite is "mint" when it looks like it was sharpened by holding it on the parking lot and driving in circles, and polished by an angry construction worker on a grinder!

And remember if you put something on Ebey if it doesn't sell, you can always raise the price to something sillier so all the latest axe collector s wannabee's can find a bargain., been thinking about selling my group of stuff and things like this make it kinda tempting, but then what would I do?
 
The fact that he's getting miffed about reasonable offers means that he really thinks it's worth a lot. He must think that because he paid a lot for it. Poor guy is going to take a big loss on this one.
 
This happens with blacksmith tools all the time on ebay..Phillip showed me a cone mandrel that you can still buy new for $107 go for more than $180 on ebay..The words "rare", "vinatge" and "collectable" are used with far to much abandon..
