I'm looking to create a teplate or a xl spread sheet or something similar to record my collection.

I already have Collectors Gold which allows you to create catagories and attach pics, but I'm looking for more of a hard copy that could be cut and pasted into word.

I have some ideas maybe between a bunch of us we can come up with a sheet/template or word doc. that can be copied and used by anyone on the forum.

Here are some fields I feel are needed.

Maker:, Pattern:, # of Blades/Condition:, Type of Steel:, Scale Material/Condition:, Purchase Price/Date of Purchase/Bought From:, Sale Price/Date Sold/Sold to:,

Feel free to tack on change or convert to a file anything you see, I'm curious to see if this evolves into something usable.

If I see an interest I'll keep this thread active and up top.

Thanks folks. :)

I have a similiar setup, but mine is a Lotus program. i just use the spreadsheet templet and I can still post pics on it. My categories are:
Maker/ Model
Fixed Blade or Folder/ Serial #
Blade Material/ Blade Finish
Guard or Bolster/ Material
Blade Length/ Overall Length
Purchase Price/ Purchase Date
Where Purchased/ Characteristics

You guys have too many knives and/or too much time on your hands :p

Hmmm, as something of a computing security weenie, I thought that if I clicked that link, I could infect my computer... but no, no one on the Knife Forum would do that, would they?

I used MS Access for my version. Makes it easier to run queries when someone asks me about a knife I own. Yeah you could do it in Excel, but the Form function in Access is so much easier for filling in info.

I, wouldn't do that, I've been here a long time, I wouldn't knowingly do that, but if your a computer weenie, you probably have a antivirus program on your computer that will let you right click and scan the attachment with your antivirus program.

Please let me know what you find out.

Clean as a whistle. No offense intended, T. Erdelyi, :footinmou I was just wanting people to be aware of what can happen.
