I decided the other day to try a few more posts.Been busy and havent really had the time to post much lately
The other day was a fine one thought that I would break out my light weight gear and give a small mountain creek a try. These fish live in small fast flowing water

Not too many visit these creeks as it is bear country and very overgrown.I had to thrash around a mile to reach the best fishing pools
Some old growth forest including Devils Club

Didnt take a picture of my fishing rig.Had the best luck with small silver spinners fished across stream
Heres where 2 creeks meet one fresh from the glacier the other not so close

One of the best pools caught and released at least a dozen here

All fish (somewhere around 35) were caught and released unharmed
These are very pretty fish-Dolly Varden

awesome brookies. nothing like the music of a mtn stream and catchin' fish.. ahh you made me jealous as hell lol. the only thing i would not be jealous about is the bears lol

nice, the wife and I hike up to dennet lake locally twice a year and its loaded with pretty little brookies like that.
Get a small roostertail in pink/green like 1/16oz and a panther martin with orange blade and yellow black spotted body the same size. I find these two as my go to spinners for alpine lakes from shore, the brookies here love them.

Thanks for the advice on the spinners I will try the pink and green.Interestingly enough i had tried the black and yellow spinner with no luck.I also fished a bunch of different flies-grasshoppers Tom Thumbs and elk hair caddis without any luck at all just followers.Different story with the silver spinners though.
Fun day
Dan'l
