Crewman pics!

I've never taken pics with snow as a background, so many of the ones I took didn't turn out well at all! But here's a few that look OK at least.

In my last truckload of firewood, I found that a very large hunk of fatwood snuck it's way in! I removed a couple of chunks with the Crewman, fuzzed them, and then was cooking on top of snow without a problem!

The Crewman is my idea of a Becker Grail I think. Relatively lightweight, extremely brutish, but still nimble enough to handle normal cutting tasks. The handle fits my big mitts perfectly. Comes quite sharp, too! I certainly hope that KaBar brings back this model in a hurry.

I am very pleased with this blade. I'd like buy a spare if KaBar made them again. I intend to give it a much more full test at a later date, and will continue to use it for basic chores like kitchen use and making my nightly fire for my fireplace.

PS- I heart fatwood, and how it smells. :D

Outstanding, Spooky. That's a really, really nice looking knife — especially for one that's been out of production for awhile. It looks brand new.

+1 for these being made again.

These would sell.

Any hope of this, Mr. Moderator??

I'm with you on everything except that crazy lightweight talk. That knife is a serious chunk of steel. :)

Now, get yourself a kydex belt sheath from onscenetactical.com (link) for about $35 shipped. If he makes one for this particular flavor, that is. Trust Powernoodle on this one. The one that comes with the knife is not groovy.

[Edit: ok, that sheath is ok; the one that really stinks is the Companion BK2 sheath. But the Onscene sheaths blow them all away. JMO.]

I just saw 3 of those this morning at a local gun/knife show. Marked up to 90.00 tho.

Listen to the PowerNoodle! knows his stuff!

mega +1 for OST!

Eric at OST makes some nice stuff, but way back when I tried with a different blade it would be weeks before I'd receive emails back. I use Kiah here (www.customkydex.com) and he does some crazy good work. But luckily I'm kosher with this current setup, quite slim and rugged.

Oh, and re: being lightweight: the comparison I was using in my head was versus the Companion! This thing feels like a featherweight versus one.

Oh, so you're using me? I see how it is, at least you can admit it. :grumpy::p

Site's down though, by the way. I need to fix it. Though I'm considering conducting all future business via telegram. Maybe singing telegram. Do they still have singing telegrams? I wonder if I could write it off as a charity. I mean there can't be much work for singing telegram workers anymore, so it would be charitable on my part. I need to look into this.

there are sexy sexy BK-02 leather and eagle industries sheaths on ePray from time to time... good stuff.

i'm THINKING though i don't know for sure, that a BK-10 Crewman should fit in those? recycle ;)

also, the second generation Kabar BK-02 out soonish, is much closer in weight to the BK-10 now, enough to ignore really. the only major differences are going to be the thumb ramp, and 2mm thickness ;)

I have been considering buying a BK7 and cutting it down to the crewman size. Could be fun. Don't worry, I know how to save the temper. :D

There's something about that tip that is just amazing in the field. My bk10 is my favorite 'big' knife by far. I will definitely buy a kabar version if one is made.

Your pics have sealed it for me,

i'm holding out for the BK10 !..................... bugger the 2.
