Howdy,
Nathan i use the same finish on most all my blades,,,,,,works great to. I get mine at Kmart its called :
DUTCH BOY fresh look Lacquer
Clear gloss #S7019
also a hint : heat the blade slightly with a hair dryer or heat gun bettween coats, just works better that way,,also make sure you apply it at room temperature,,,,,,dont leave the can out in the cold shop then try to use it,i keep my cans inside until i need them.

This sounds interesting. I finished a blade about a month ago or so and would like to leave the heat treat color on it. I know, it sounds wierd, but I will post a picture of it later.
How would this stuff work to prolong this "finish"?

Hello,
I forgot to add also that this finish really only works the best over a Bead blasted blade, For using over Oxide coated as heat treated blades it may work fine,havent tried it, but its only like 4.00
a can, only problem is if it doesnt work well you pretty much have to bead blast it off to remove it,,,,,well either that or Chop alot tell it wears off..lol!!
Might try it on a piece of scrap first for the as heatreated color application.
