The guy who did this is a custom knife maker and hunter who makes pretty good fixed blade knives. This case though seems like a very unlucky combination of lots of alcohol, bad ideas and even more alcohol :D

The culprit doesn't say much about the design specifics though. what do you guys think? :)

p.s. will add some more pictures

and here they are:

p.p.s. turns out, it was not his idea. someone asked to do this to his knife. yep, heresy...

p.p.p.s turns out, the knife was broken. so to save whatever was left, they did this.

I figured it was something like this. Would actually be a pretty decent little skinner except for the fact that the tip is proud of the handle, definitely a no-go in my opinion.

Yeah, maybe some sort of sheath will be mad for it later. As it is now, it's not really safe to say the least :D

Yeah I was going to guess broken blade plus copious alcohol consumption by at least one of the parties if not both. Seems a sheepsfoot would have been a better way to go.

Defintely top 10 cringeworthy knives of all time even if it was done to save the knife. Pitch it and buy another one.

Kudos on the perfect topic description BTW.

haha, thanks :)

This one didn't require a lot of alcohol. At least the tip doesn't protrude.View attachment 470814

yeah, like that conversion. looks pretty interesting and it wont cut of your balls while in pocket...

well, it's not mine, but yeah. it looks too bad even for a saved knife. at least filling of the choil area on handle would help make it seem more in line with the new blade. the blade sticking out though is very disturbing. hope the guy who wanted it like that will be careful... :D
