I managed to get a shot or two of this "one of a kind" built by Bob Cargill. Thought I would share them with you mutts. Titanium blades and liners. Not sure about the backsprings.

This guy is a looker and part of my collection that will probably never see any use. I have plenty of others for that. Don't remember what I paid for it. I have had it for a few years now.

SWEEEEET, Boy oh boy want i would give too get a look at your whole collection of Cripple Creeks lets keep um coming.

I agree. That knife is something else. I have one of his customs with filework but nothing that elaborate.

If your purpose in showing this knife was to make me jealous, you have succeeded beyond your expectations. :D I have just been thumbing through recent knife magazines thinking that nothing here has really lit my fire. I was wondering if I was losing interest. Well, I guess not. That is a really FINE looking knife. Thank you for posting that.

It's amazing what the engraving on the pearl does to bring that lovely knife together! A real piece of art!!

Thanks guys and mostly, thanks Bob Cargill. I was only showing off a bit. Mainly I wanted to show the custom side of Cargill. You see a lot of his working knives and club knives but not a lot of "Out of the Box" type of knife from his past work. He made a run of knives that are all on the cutom side using his favorite patterns. some, such as this one, are called the Cargill Cripple Creek Classics. He experimented with these knives. Every now and then you find one that is a bit rough, but only a few. Hard to come by for sure. I post photos of my Cripple Creeks here in "Traditional" just to add a little color on the board and show another option to the newly made knives. What surprises me is that Fight'n Rooster knives are rarely ever mentioned here as well. I have nothing against the new knives on the market but a lot of what they are producing now, has already been done and done well.

This isn't a cripple creek but a cargill. but it shows some of his custom work. It also has Cargill's patt. sidelock. I know it doesn't hold a candle to your titanium Greg. That is just a beautiful knife. Hope the picture works, first time i ever posted a pic.

Nice one Soulmanticore. I think I remember it from eBay? I'll see if I can get a good picture of one of my Cargill Customs.

Actually, I gave my mom money to buy it so my wife wouldn't find out. She had a small cow when i told her i was buying a 5 blade pearl sowbelly a couple of days ago. Hopefully its in the mail as we speak.

I'll post a photo of it as soon as I can Mike. A 5 blade pearl sowbelly? With the Bear Shield? Hey, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.
Greg

Here is one of Cargill's fixed blade pieces. If you have ever been to his website you may recognize it. I am not sure if he only made one or these or more than that. Handle is Pearl and Ebony.

Here's the Flipper in pearl. This guy was built in '84 and has the hook shaped flipper on it. I believe some of the other flippers have the round bar across the top so that it works left and right handed. This one is made from 440C but there are a few others, like Mikes, made of damascus.

Greg,

Yeah, thats the one. I'm actually going to have to hack your picture. You do a hell of a lot better than i do. How many of those flippers did cargill make? Is it another one of his designs? YOu know i would love to see your whole collection some day. Eye popping im sure. While i got you on the horn. I was wondering what you thought of Ted Loy's collection? I would like to get a few of the ones he's put on E-bay. But man he puts a pretty healthy $$$ on them. I did break down and bought his cd's he was selling. Just to see what he all had. But i blew the money i was saving on this pearl instead.

Until next time, Shane
